The 260-acre, beautifully landscaped campus is in the village of Ada in northwest Hardin County. The University offers what many consider to be an ideal combination with the intimacy of a small college setting and the rich, diverse curriculum of a progressive university. Hallmarks of Ohio Northern are a solid, value-based education, with emphasis on an able and talented student body and a capable and committed faculty. The University challenges students and helps them to develop in all ways -- academically, socially, physically, culturally, morally and spiritually.
Recent campus improvement projects include the completion of an addition to the science and engineering buildings that provides more room for instruction, laboratories, service areas and offices; an addition to the music building that increases the number of music practice rooms, provides an additional large practice hall and adds faculty studio offices; and an addition to the College of Law, which expands space for library collections, technical services, study areas and offices in addition to renovating the existing structure.
Ohio Northern continues to be recognized as one of the premier institutions in the Midwest and in the country, and the University is included in several publications and articles highlighting outstanding institutions. ONU's excellence is reflected in its student body and in a number of ways. For example, a high number of undergraduate students ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school classes, and the university has a high proportion of high school valedictorians, salutatorians and Ohio Academic Scholars. Several Ohio Northern students are involved in research projects, professional co-ops, internships, international exchange programs and other co-curricular experiences that complement classroom learning.
