Rhodes enrollment jump recognized
Rhodes State College is the 24th-fastest growing two-year college in the nation, according to a recent report by the U.S. Department of Education.
The recognition is based on the school’s 6.7 percent increase in enrollment between fall 2004 and fall 2005. Rhodes State enrollment during winter quarter was 3,158, an 11 percent increase compared to last year’s winter quarter.
“We are pleased with this recognition,” Rhodes State President Debra McCurdy said. “ Rhodes State is constantly looking for ways to partner with community members to expand our growth and accessibility to the community.”
The school has also seen a 28 percent growth in enrollment of students 20 years old and younger. On average, Rhodes has also seen an increase in its direct from high school and first quarter student enrollment since 1994.

Rhodes sees record enrollment
Rhodes State College announced an all-time high enrollment of 3,369 students. This marks the third straight year Rhodes has broken its enrollment record. This quarter’s enrollment represents a 10.2 percent increase over the record-breaking 2005 fall enrollment of 3,058.
Gains were experienced among all academic divisions of the college with an overall increase in new students of 11.6 percent. Enrollments in Nursing and Allied Health divisions continue to grow as the college has partnerships with local hospitals to increase the number of allied health and nursing professionals serving our area.
Another area of growth was within the college’s Engineering Technology and Information Technology Division with a 15.5 percent increase in new students and nearly 40 percent of that growth directly impacted by academic majors that serve the West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium. In addition, continuing students increased 11.4 percent compared with last fall.
