Community Reinvestment Area - Lima City is designated a Community Reinvestment Area and can offer a reduced abatement up to 100% on real property taxes.
Enterprise Zone - Several areas in Allen County have Enterprise Zone designations. Companies locating in Enterprise Zones can benefit from tax abatements on personal and real property.
Allen County is considered a "situationally distressed" area due to recent defense-related downsizing. The county therefore is able to offer a 13.5% tax credit on new machinery and equipment. Allen County is one of the few counties in the State of Ohio able to offer this additional 6.5% credit (the standard credit is 7%).
Local Enterprise Zone Tax Abatements
Tax abatements on real estate, personal property, and inventory are available for new projects and expansion projects. Facilitated by AEDG abatements are negotiated with the appropriate local governmental unit and school district.
