Improving Safety and Traffic Flow: North Thayer Road Roundabout

LIMA, Ohio – The Port Authority of Allen County (PAAC) announces the Thayer Road roundabout project will soon start construction. The project will enhance safety and help alleviate congestion, supporting the expansion of the Procter & Gamble warehouse facility.

“The roundabout is a $3.2 million investment in safety and efficiency by the Port Authority of Allen County. We are accelerating this project to minimize impact to traffic and ensure the new roundabout is available to handle the anticipated increased traffic volume for the expanding P&G warehouse facility,” according to Cynthia Leis, Director of the Port
Authority of Allen County.

The new roundabout will be constructed on N. Thayer Road, between Reservoir Road and Ada Road. Closure information is as follows:

Effective Monday, June 16, through Monday, August 4, North Thayer Road between Reservoir Road and Ada Road will be closed. The detour is via Ada Road to I-75, then to SR 309, to Mumaugh Road, and finally to Reservoir Road. Procter & Gamble truck traffic should follow the signage into the facility from I-75. Following the closure, intermittent lane restrictions will be possible for finishing work through September. Additional construction work in the area will be announced.

The Port Authority awarded the construction contract to Vernon Nagel Inc., of Napoleon, Ohio.
