The second quarter of 2026 brought continued progress for Allen County, as the Allen Economic Development Group (AEDG) advanced key priorities in business growth, retention, infrastructure, and new development. From groundbreakings to grand openings, the numbers reflect steady momentum across the Greater Lima Region.

Quarter 2 Milestones

This quarter’s milestones highlight continued private investment and confidence in Allen County’s economic future.

Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E)

AEDG’s Business Retention & Expansion program remained a key focus this quarter, with local businesses reporting stable conditions, economic confidence, and continued opportunities for growth.

  • 22 BR&E visits completed during the quarter; 45 completed year-to-date.
  • 10 companies identified potential expansion plans and/or investments in machinery and equipment.
  • Allen County ranks 2nd among the 17 Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) counties for completed BR&E visits.
  • 2,396 jobs retained across visited companies this quarter.

Project Pipeline & Site Development

Allen County’s project pipeline remains strong, supported by new leadership focused on site readiness and infrastructure planning.

  • 25 active projects in various stages of development.
  • 11 prospects currently discussing projects with AEDG.
  • 7 projects under construction and 2 nearing completion, totaling $615 million in capital investment.
  • 22 RFIs reviewed this quarter, with 4 responses submitted.

AEDG also welcomed Jeremy Scoles as Planning and Site Development Manager, further strengthening the team’s ability to advance site readiness, infrastructure planning, and business attraction efforts. With 25 acres owned and 500 acres under option by the Port Authority, Allen County remains well-positioned for future growth.

Infrastructure Investment

Continued infrastructure investment reinforces AEDG’s commitment to supporting existing businesses while creating opportunities for new growth throughout Allen County.

  • Jay Begg Parkway extension completed.
  • Planned upgrades to Thayer Road, N. Cole Street, McClain Road, and Breese Road.
  • $4.8 million awarded in ODOD and ODOT grants.
